  • Age: 45
  • Internet Experience: moderate

"The internet is a great way for me to obtain information I need for a case"

Profile:
Susan is an attorney that often utilizes the web to research information she needs to help her with a case. With the help of the web, Susan can easily research taxpayer information, unfamiliar companies, and laws that relates to the case. It is much easier to contact expert in the field of her need than to do the work herself.

6. How do you use the internet for work purposes? I'll use the internet to research a business or industry that I'm not familiar with in order to better understand the facts of a case. I use CCH and Lexis-Nexis to review case law, regulations and statutes.

7. Wikipedia--use it to get basic background information about topics that I am unfamiliar with so that I can then conduct more comprehensive research.
8. I like to go to the site map. I hate the clutter of most websites and hate the endless drilling down. I have found the search engines to be useless much of the time. They usually do not pull the results I want. The site map lets me cut through the junk and get to the meat.

Summary of research-
All of the lawyers use the internet daily and mainly for research. They don't use the internet to do their work but to aid them. When it comes to the way they research, they all vary. Some like to go straight to the search engine but others like to search themselves. One web solution for this site is to use some sort of interactive visual content that will communicate with the user. Another web solution is to have the site rank high in google since the client's primary users are other lawyers and it can be concluded that they use the internet mainly for research.
